Nintendo doesn't do the whole Achievements thing, which makes it very difficult to celebrate my completionist efforts in its games. I haven't done everything in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but I did a lot, and one of tasks I did see to the end (alongside other tasks like finding all the memories) was finding and completing all the shrines. I don't think I need to say spoilers here, but just in case: look out for spoilers.

Much like this blog from 2014, where I recount what you get for beating A Link Between Worlds on the hero difficulty, this post is here as an excuse for me to say, "Hey! Look! I did this thing I did!" Plus, I bet some people would like to know what you get for finishing the shrines.
First up, here's the shrine dialogue you see when you complete your final shrine.
You get a new side quest, which sends you off to the Forgotten Temple. There is a shrine there, so it's pretty easy to fast-travel, assuming you have already completed the shrine. Or maybe it's your last shrine so you're already there!
Here's where it is located on the map.
It's the place with the impressive Goddess Statue from Skyward Sword at the end of the cave teeming with Guardians.
You will find three chests there that weren't there previously. Here is what is inside of them.
Side quest complete!
Daxter would be proud.
As far as I know, outside of Amiibo unlocks and dying your clothes, this is the only was to acquire a classic green tunic for Link. It's pretty strong and can be leveled up, which, unsurprisingly, requires lots of difficult to find material, like dragon scales and comparable items.
After going clothes shopping, I went and turned in my final four Spirit Orbs for my last heart. Since you will always be three hearts short if you max out stamina, here is my bold prediction for the DLC.
Bold late-night prediction: The Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC will add eight new shrines to the game alongside the confirmed dungeon.
