When you set up Apple Watch, your iPhone asks you to hold the watch up to your iPhone camera. If your iPhone says that it's unable to connect to Apple Watch — or the watch shows a clock face — make sure that Apple Watch isn't already paired.
If you can't unpair Apple Watch because you don't have its paired iPhone, you can erase the watch.
When you erase Apple Watch instead of unpairing it, the watch is still protected by Activation Lock. Before you can pair Apple Watch again, enter the Apple ID and password that was used to set it up.
Open the Settings app on your watch, then tap General > Reset.
Tap Erase All Content and Settings, then tap again to confirm.
Wait for the watch to unpair.
After Apple Watch unpairs completely, you can pair again. You'll need the Apple ID and password that were used to set up the watch.
Reset Apple Watch without using a passcode
If you can't unpair or erase your Apple Watch because you’ve forgotten its passcode, you can reset the watch.
When you reset Apple Watch instead of unpairing it, the watch is still protected by Activation Lock. Before you can pair Apple Watch again, you'll have to enter the Apple ID and password that was used to set it up.
Put Apple Watch on its charger.
Press and hold the side button until you see the screen with the power button in the upper-right corner, then let go of the side button. If your Apple Watch has an earlier version of watchOS, you see the Power Off slider instead of the power button.
Press and hold the Digital Crown until you see the red Reset button.
Tap Reset, then tap Reset again to confirm.
After Apple Watch unpairs completely, you can pair again. Remember that you'll need the Apple ID and password that were used to set up the watch.
Reset Apple Watch if the pairing process stalls
If it seems like the pairing process has stalled — for example, the pairing animation remains on the screen for several minutes — resetting your Apple Watch might help:
Press and hold the Digital Crown while your Apple Watch is in pairing mode.

When your iPhone is off or out of range, your Apple Watch can use a Wi-Fi network to send and receive data. Your watch can also connect to a cellular network if it's a cellular model. And if you've set up an Apple Watch for a family member, they can use a cellular or Wi-Fi connection with their watch.
Hold your iPhone near your Apple Watch, wait for the Apple Watch pairing screen to appear on your iPhone, then tap Continue. You can also open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, then tap Pair New Watch.
Do this only if you're unable to restart your Apple Watch. To force restart, hold down the side button and the Digital Crown at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Keep your Apple Watch and paired iPhone close together to make sure that they're in range. On your iPhone, make sure that Airplane Mode is off and that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are on. To check, open Control Center. on your watch face, Airplane Mode is on.
On your Apple Watch, tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. Type your password if prompted. For GPS + Cellular models, choose to keep or remove your cellular plan.
There's a chance your phone is simply too far away from your Apple Watch, or that it's in a bag or drawer that is blocking a clear signal. Because the watch and phone pair via Bluetooth, proximity is key. So, get them closer together and see if that alleviates the issue.
Tap the info icon "i" on your Apple Watch (it will be shown now). Your device's name should be displayed on the watch face. On your iPhone, tap the device name matching that shown on your Apple Watch face. A six-digit code will be displayed on your Apple Watch.
