On the first Monday of May each year, celebrities flock to the front steps of New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art for the Met Costume Institute Gala, otherwise known at the Met Gala. Formally a fundraising benefit for Costume Institute and the opening night of each year's fashion exhibit, the Met Gala is unofficially considered one the best evenings in fashion. And with this year's theme of "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty," the event—which is co-chaired by Michaela Coel, Penélope Cruz, Roger Federer, Dua Lipa, and Anna Wintour, the Met announced—delivered some of the very best fashion we've seen in years.
But the first Monday in May isn't just about epic sartorial choices; it's also about watching some of our favorite celebrity couples turn the red carpet into their very own date night. Here, we're rounding up our favorite couples from the evening, including Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, Rita Ora and Taika Waititi, Suki Waterhouse and Robert Pattinson, and more.
