I have an iPhone 6 (s/w rev 12.5 - which I believe is the latest the iPhone will load) and an Apple Watch 2 (s/w 6.2.9).
When I try and pair the two, the iPhone indicates it requires a software update - but it won't load anything higher than rev 12.5
I'm not in the position to upgrade the phone nor the watch - please advise how I could revert back to an earlier Watch s/w version that is compatible?
Kind regards

Sadly Apple Watches automatically update to the latest revision and while the iPhone6 has stagnated on software revision 12.5.x the older Apple Watch 2 has continued upgrading to revision 7 now.
I have been informed that there is NO way to revert back to an earlier revision on the Apple Watch, which means I'm stuck with two functional Apple products that won't pair :-(
Saw Apple made $110billion in the 4th quarter last year. Good on you Apple - forcing people to upgrade to keep up. Sadly I'm not in a position to upgrade!!!

- Apple watch 8 series is not compatible with Iphone 6s PlusGreetings,Just to let you know all. The apple watch 8 is not compatible with Iphone 6s plus and 7. Your new watch will work with Iphone 8 and above. When trying to pair the watch with the phone, the watch wants to update its version and unpairing from the phone. The phone is with iOS 15.7 I had long discussion with apple support and no one could help me with a solution. At the end they told me to contact local apple supplier and support. They told me that the watch is compatible with Iphone 8 and above. Unfortunately I had to return my brand new watch. 22483
- Connecting Apple watch 6 to iPhone 7 PlusHi, I have iPhone 7 plus with the most updated system version 15.7.9 .The phone indicated that this is the most updated version and don't give me any option to update it.I have just received a new Apple watch (replace by the lab) - 6/44mm.When trying to connect it to the phone, after identification process etc., I see it working but after a short time with no success, I see it makes a disconnection process. When clicking on the "information" I get the message that I need version 17 , but as mentioned, I can't update to. I asked the lab, and they told me they can't lower the new watch version.Any suggestions ? 762

To use your AppleWatch Series 1 or later with watchOS5, you need to pair it with an iPhone5s or later with iOS12 or later—Apple Watch models with cellularrequire an iPhone6 or later. Setup assistants on your iPhone and AppleWatch work together to help you pair and set up your AppleWatch.

What is the watch OS and iOS on the respective device. .
You should have watchOS 5 and iOS 12, then there wouldn't be any problem in pairing your devices.
