Born in Miami to British-Argentine parents and raised in Buenos Aires and London, prolific actress Anya Taylor-Joy has starred in a series of critically-acclaimed roles including Netflix hit The Queen’s Gambit that won her a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors’ Guild award and a Critics’ Choice award. And she’s just getting started. After Last Night in Soho and The Northman, Anya stars in upcoming titles; David O. Russell’s Amsterdam with Christian Bale, comedy-horror The Menu with Ralph Fiennes and fellow Jaeger-LeCoultre brand ambassador Nicholas Hoult and Mad Max prequel Furiosa.

IT ALL BEGAN IN A PHONE BOOTH IN 1903
Jacques-David LeCoultre cycled 20 KM to the nearest telephone station in Vallorbe. There, he accepted a challenge from Parisian watchmaker Edmond Jaeger who offered to design and produce a new ultra-thin movement. This call marked the beginning of a perfect alliance between Jaeger’s Parisian chic and LeCoultre’ Swiss savoir-faire that led to the official creation of what is now Jaeger-LeCoultre.
The encounter with Anya was meant to be. Her long family history with Polo and interest in watchmaking led us to a natural partnership. With her ethereal beauty, her sensitivity, her talent and hardworking ethics, she embodies the values and style of our Maison.

THE REVERSO CLASSIC DUETTO
With the elegance of another era and a sharply modern edge, Anya Taylor-Joy is the personification of the Reverso Classic Duetto. The Reverso Classic Duetto brilliantly invokes the codes of the Art Deco style that defines it – a rectangular case, reversibility and iconic gadroons – while displaying two rows of diamonds on itsreverse side. Inspired by the Reversos created in the late 1930s, this classic model is the expression of the rectangular icon with a swivelling concept that turns the reverse side into a second expression of time with another style.

Resolutely feminine, this new interpretation offers the Duetto concept the opportunity to deliver its double set of hands in two different and complementary settings. The Reverso Classic features the original three-lined gadroons and 12 Arabic numerals, two-tone finished dials and sword hands, all elevated by an inside cradle finished with circular graining resembling the refined finishes also on its calibre.
