The Apple Watch SE features the S5 Chip, while the Apple Watch Series 7 offers an S7 Chip. The Series 7 is therefore, 20% faster than the SE. The Apple Watch Series 7 has a blood-oxygen sensor and you can even perform an ECG. If you're interested in health tracking, you should be sporting an Apple Watch Series 7.

Series 7000 marked on the back of the watch indicates an original first generation Apple Watch (before Series 1, around 5 years old) which can only update to WatchOS v4.

The 1st Gen Apple Watch is still a great piece of tech, but if it hasn't been cared for over the years, then you're not going to be happy with it. So make sure you're buying one that's been properly cared for by professionals in the refurbished industry.

Although the Apple Watch Series 7 and SE (1st generation) are discontinued, they're still supported. This means they'll keep receiving new versions of watchOS for at least a couple more years. The exception to this is the Apple Watch Series 3.

The biggest change in the Apple Watch SE 2 is the processor. While the original model had an older S5 system in a package that debuted in the Apple Watch Series 5, the second-generation SE has the newest S8 SiP, the same processor that's in the Apple Watch Series 8 and Ultra.

Apple Watch Series 1 has a water resistance rating of IPX7 under IEC standard 60529. Apple Watch Series 1 is splash and water resistant, but submerging Apple Watch Series 1 is not recommended.
